Raymond O' Connor

I have a diverse background that includes 13 years of experience as an Approved Driving Instructor, which began back in October 2010 after I retired from the Permanent Defence Forces having served over 22.5 years. I made the decision it was time to put the skills and knowledge that I had acquired over the years as an accident free Army Driver to some good use, and decided upon a career of teaching people how to drive, and getting them up to a standard that would enable them to pass their driving test. This would ensure total independence from the fact of having to be accompanied at all times by a qualified full license driver and thereby setting them up for the future. My time in the Army provided me with valuable skills in leadership, discipline, and attention to detail, which I have been able to apply to my role as a Driving Instructor. Over the past 13 years, I have developed vast expertise in driver training, road safety, and effective communication with drivers of all skill levels. I am very passionate about promoting safe driving practices and helping individuals become responsible and skilled drivers. I believe that my combined experience in both the military and as a Driving Instructor has equipped me with the necessary skills, knowledge, and professionalism to excel with all students. My biggest achievements so far have been getting both my children, David & Katie, through their Driving Test on their very 1st attempt, and also for bringing David up to Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) standard which now enables him to have a career and business of his own in the world of Driving Instruction.
